Firemen's Visit

Update

Wow, what a busy few weeks we have had..... visit from the fire department, practising our christmas show and finishing off our timelines and other classwork. Mrs Behague has been busy doing reports too!!!!! I will try to get some more photos on here for our friends and family as soon as possible. Thanks for all the messages and comments you have been continuing to send in.

Our animal visitors

Yesterday for news Claudia bought in a tiny duckling that had been left by it's mother. Claudia called him/her "fluffy" and boy was it "CUTE". Tania held him really gently while all the children got to give it a little pat to feel how soft he was. Thanks Claudia that was great news.

Bridie also had very interesting news... she found a little green frog at home when she was playing so she bought it in to show us. Her Mum Connaire helped her put it in an old fish tank with lots of grass..... he was pretty cool to look at, and at some stages during the day all the children were screaming at the same time because he was climbing up the side of the tank. Mrs Behague was very thankful there was a lid on them top with vents for it to breathe!!!!!

First we got into our line. Nextg we drawed a hop scotch it went up to 20. After we did discus and I threw it a long way. Then we did the long jump I think I am the best in our group.

First we sat down in the morning it was boring because we had to sit down for a long time. Next we went to the running race, I came 1st because I am the fastest in the class. Also we went to play duck duck goose. I love duck duck goose.

I liked it because I did the final and I came last. Firstly I sat down and the thing I liked doing was the high jump and the long jump too and playing duck duck goose. The next thing the bell went and that was the end of that one. Next I moved on and it was lunch time and all of the Mums came and the bell went again. On the afternoon we sat down again and I did the long jump it was really fun.

First I got in the line then I got told instructions. Then we went into our group activity. My first one was chalk. We drew pictures, I drew a cat and a pony and also a rainbow and hopscotch. My next one was high jump. We started on the little ones then if we did well we went onto the big one. It was simple I got on to the big one and that was simple too. Next I did discus and we split up into groups. One had a blue one and one had a red. Then we threw it far. Some I got the furtherest. Then we did running. I was happy because I came first in my group. I loved running because I came first in the finals.

Firstly I lined up then the 6 year old boys went to the running race. Secondly I did chalk. After that we lined up aqtgain and Miss Forsyth talked to us then we had morning teas. Next we lined up then we went to high jump and we did the jump twice, one on the little one and one on the big one. Also shot put and long jump. And then we lined up and we had lunch. Then the finals we on. I came second to last.

First I lined up in my group and my group was 6 year old girls. Next I did chalk pictures. After that I did high jump and it was scary because I thought that I was going to knock it over. Also I did discus and it was fun because I felt great and I tried my best. At the running races I came first in the practise. Lastly I did the running final and I came second and I tried my best.

Our Italian Visitors!!

Today we were lucky enough to have Henry's Uncle Gavin and Patritzia come and visit us all the way from Italy. Well they didn't come just to see us, they were coming to see Henry's family!!!! They had posted some comments on our blog so it was great to meet them. Gavin answered alot of the children's questions about Italy and what they did there etc. Patrizia translated the children's names into Italian and we practised pronouncing them..... I must say they sound very dramatic compared with how we speak. It was alot of fun and the children were so lucky and got given a little Italian Flag with their translated name on it from Gavin and Patritzia.

Athletics Day

Today we had our athletics..... We did shot put (with beanbags) and discus (with coits) and high jump and long jump. We also did running. We had the finals of the running races this afternoon which was great fun.

Assembly 9th November

Fun Friday

On fun Friday me and Bridie also Dominic made a castle with a long gate. It needed lots and lots of rulers to measure it. We used 8 little rulers (30cm) and 1 big (1m). Also it was made out of blocks. I make buildings out of blocks because I like measuring them and putting things on top.

Time

We have lots of ways to make time. We have normal clocks and digital ones we have lots of different ones. These are some of the things I know about time......
* There are 7 days in a week
* There are 60seconds in a minutes
* There are 60 minutes in an hour
Mrs Behague taught us a song to remember how many days in each month..... it goes like this:
30 days have September, April, June and November
all the rest have 31
except for February
all on it's own!!!

Changes to Hunter

On Friday Hunter came to room 4. He cant walk and talk. Hunter has very sloppy poos.
He only drinks milk. He is going to be 6 weeks old on Sunday.

Time at Gym

To day I got 4 certificates. I got one for 2nd all Around, also 1st for team. I got 2nd for Vault also 3rd for floor for gym. Mrs Brocherie taught us gym every friday lunch time. I love Mrs Brocherie because she is a good person for a coach. I love gym because you can get flexible and you can get medals.

Hunter's visit

Hunter can't talk or walk and Hunter can't crawl. He can cry and scream he wakes in the night. He's not very tall and to get to sleep he sucks a dummy.

Sophie & Charlotte's Certificate

I got a certificate at assembly its really thick. I think its the paper that I recycled. Its got lizards on. Its got 4 baby lizards. I think that I did a great job
too.I got it for picking up rubbish at school.

When I was a baby I had a red head and looked sleepy and funny. When I was a baby I cuddled my Mum. Also I was poohing and peeing on my Dad when he was changing my nappy. Then I was crawling with my nappay on.

Now I am 3 I can talk and walk. Also I'm smiling because I'm in the hospital because Audrey was born. When I saw her I went to play and cuddle her.

My head was small and my Dad had to get up every hour to feed me. I was sneaky and I had browny white skin. When my teeth came through I did lots of dribbling.

When I was a baby I was funny and I was crying and I had beautiful chubby cheeks. My Dad was teaching me how to walk.

Athletics Day

Well hopefully tomorrow it will be all go. We are pinning all our hopes on the Auckland weather so who knows what may happen. Hopefully we will have some great photos to post of the children participating in the track and field events.

Gymnastics

On Wednesday we did gym and we did the pommell and the floor and bar. My favourite one was floor because I like the candlestick and the tuck, star straight. I went with Lukes Mum in the car and I was excited because I haven't been there before. I got a bronze medal out of all the boys and we (Coatesville) won the trophy. I think I'll do it next year.

Celebration!!!!!

We celebrated a milestone of over 500 hits to our blog (in only 3 weeks I might add)with a beautiful cake and a big Woohoo!!! We are excited about how our blog is being received and have enjoyed some positive and encouraging comments that have been added. Grandparents overseas who are now able to regularly share their grand-daughters work is just one of the positives to date. We also have Henry's Uncle coming to visit our class when he arrives from Italy to check out this awesome class of kids from what he has seen on the blog. Not to mention the enthusiasm of the budding blogsters wanting to post their writing.
Other teachers from Nelson, Balmoral (and even Coatesville) have also shared their comments with the children.

Changes over time..... what can you do now?

We were so lucky to have Hunter to look at as a real live model of what a baby looks like. We compared these things with what we are like now and what we can do......
He was a very good subject......very relaxed.

MRS BROCHERIE AND HUNTER COME TO SCHOOL

On Friday afternoon Mrs Brocherie came in with Hunter who is now about 4 weeks old. He is absolutley beautiful and Mrs Behague talked Paris into going to get him from the Artec Room (Mrs Brocerie was coaching the school gym team)so she could have a cuddle. He was so good and posed for photos with us then fell asleep on Mrs Behague. We really wanted to keep him but Mrs Brocherie wouldn't have it.

Something that is different is our toys are made of plastic and in the olden days they had to make their toys.

Developmental 26th October

Today I baked some cookies with Daisy's Mum Chrissie. The after we cooked them, we ate them. They were yummy and nice. And I made a building with Charlotte with the blocks. I like developmental because it's fun and cool. I learn how to make cookies and build things and (Lauran)
Today I made a pencil case and it was fun. I made it with a tube and I decorated it with love hearts and I drew things on it. It's going to be for my pencils when we go camping at Christmas. Sticking the shells on was hard because they kept falling off. Drawing the faces and sticking lots of things on it was my favourite part (Henry)

MUSIC

At music we learn about different music and instruments. Chime bars, glockenspiels and Marimbas are what we are playing at music on Thursdays. Mrs Callister teaches us fun things. My favourite instruments are the glockenspiels (Bridie) My favourite are the chime bars. These photos show us playing with lycra to music....it was stretchy and cool. We had to stretch it and tug it.
