Gymnastics Competition

Celebration!!!!!

We celebrated a milestone of over 500 hits to our blog (in only 3 weeks I might add)with a beautiful cake and a big Woohoo!!! We are excited about how our blog is being received and have enjoyed some positive and encouraging comments that have been added. Grandparents overseas who are now able to regularly share their grand-daughters work is just one of the positives to date. We also have Henry's Uncle coming to visit our class when he arrives from Italy to check out this awesome class of kids from what he has seen on the blog. Not to mention the enthusiasm of the budding blogsters wanting to post their writing.
Other teachers from Nelson, Balmoral (and even Coatesville) have also shared their comments with the children.
Keep watching as more of our time work (and eventually our own time lines will be posted)
Thanks again
Mrs Behague

Changes over time..... what can you do now?

We were so lucky to have Hunter to look at as a real live model of what a baby looks like. We compared these things with what we are like now and what we can do......
He was a very good subject......very relaxed.
Thanks Mrs Brocherie and Hunter

MRS BROCHERIE AND HUNTER COME TO SCHOOL

On Friday afternoon Mrs Brocherie came in with Hunter who is now about 4 weeks old. He is absolutley beautiful and Mrs Behague talked Paris into going to get him from the Artec Room (Mrs Brocerie was coaching the school gym team)so she could have a cuddle. He was so good and posed for photos with us then fell asleep on Mrs Behague. We really wanted to keep him but Mrs Brocherie wouldn't have it.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is our toys are made of plastic and in the olden days they had to make their toys.

Developmental 26th October

Today I baked some cookies with Daisy's Mum Chrissie. The after we cooked them, we ate them. They were yummy and nice. And I made a building with Charlotte with the blocks. I like developmental because it's fun and cool. I learn how to make cookies and build things and (Lauran)
Today I made a pencil case and it was fun. I made it with a tube and I decorated it with love hearts and I drew things on it. It's going to be for my pencils when we go camping at Christmas. Sticking the shells on was hard because they kept falling off. Drawing the faces and sticking lots of things on it was my favourite part (Henry)

Toys and Playing - Over Time

In the olden days there were different toys and they had toy hospitals to fix toys.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is differnt is we dont ride our go-carts down the road.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is the same is we still have billycarts.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is we have toys made out of plastic also we play soccer and our parents do too.

MUSIC

At music we learn about different music and instruments. Chime bars, glockenspiels and Marimbas are what we are playing at music on Thursdays. Mrs Callister teaches us fun things. My favourite instruments are the glockenspiels (Bridie) My favourite are the chime bars. These photos show us playing with lycra to music....it was stretchy and cool. We had to stretch it and tug it. (Millie)

BUDDY READING

At buddy reading we read our books to our buddies in the library. It is fun because they read books to us too. We do buddy reading on Thursday's with Room 11. My buddy is Zoe and I like her because she lets me read along with her. (Bridie) My buddy is Kelsi and I like her because she reads fast and we have time for lots of stories. (Millie)

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is that we are riding bikes now and we used to have tea parties.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Knucklebones used to be made out of real bones.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is that our toys are made out of plastic.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is that people made their own tows but now we buy our toys from the shops and we don't make them any more.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is that knuckle bones are made out of metal now.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different: their costumes were made from feathers but in our day our costumes are made of materials.

Toys and Playing - Over Time

Something that is different is we dont ride our go-garts down the road anymore.

Competition Winner

On Wednesday of the last holidays I had a day out with Mum. First we went to Paint the Earth and then we went out for lunch at the Westfield mall and did some other things.
When we were at Paint the Earth I painted a happy and a sad face box and the happy side was sponge bob and the sad side was captain underpants. When we were leaving my Mum picked up something about a competition and she told me she was going to send a photo in when I was at school.
I WON!!!!!
I won $100 to spend at Paint the Earth. I found out I had won on my Mum’s computer on October 19th 2007 and I felt rich. I wrote something to Anna at the Paint the Earth to say….Dear Anna It’s fun being rich!
If you would like to see more about me click on the the paint the earth website link on the right under "more interesting links"

TERM 4 TOPIC

This term our topic is "time"..... we will be exploring important events that have happened over our lives, adding captions to describe them. We will compare with others time lines and learn how to tell time. We will look at some of the things that are different to when Mrs Behague was our age and even try and find things that might be the same. Keep an eye out for our postings.....

Viewing your Children's Work

I am working on how you can access the postings of a particular child only..... each posting will now be labelled with the first name only of the "author" and therefore you should be able to search for their label only by clicking on the child's name under the "Individual Children's Work" heading.

Let me know how you get on?

Would love to get some feedback or comments on this.
Thanks
Mrs Behague

Ag Day 2007

What a great day. The weather held out beautifully for us....... the sun shone and everyone looked like they were having an excellent time with their family and friends.

There were some awesome looking animals and plants and a whole lot of ribbons were given out.

My personal favourite was the Jump Jammers in the Coatesville Idol....not that I'm biased or anything.

On Thursday we had a demo from Mrs Read and Mrs Amrein on how to make our Sand Saucers for Ag day. The most important things were that it had to be on a "saucer" and we had to try and cover ALL the sand with flowers and leaves.
